Wow. Its been almost 4 months since I last sat down and wrote a post. I’m going through all the reasons I didn’t make the time and none of them are good enough. It really makes you appreciate those bloggers and publications that put out content daily. Its HARD. I will try to be better.
So for my first post after a way-to-long hiatus is about finally crossing something off my Winter Bucket List. If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I love making bucket lists every season and without fail, I end up crossing NOTHING off those lists. This time I’m taking a different approach and not actually making a list. I’m just going to go and DO things.
This past weekend I crossed something off the list that has been on there FOREVER. Skating at Nathan Phillips Square! After a lovely morning of brunching and boozing with bubbly, we made our way over to City Hall to start our adventure. I won’t lie, I was little terrified since it has been about 10 years since I last put on skates.
It was SO much fun. There is such spirited vibe at the square and people of all ages and skill levels taking advantage of the ice. There’s Christmas music playing and until December 23rd, they are holding a Holiday Fair in the Square. A European-style holiday market featuring artisan crafts, gourmet snacks, a Holly Jolly Midway with rides like a carousel and teacups. And of course, Santa visits.
We got the best Santa visit of all – a selfie with FASHION SANTA!
If you don’t have skates, no biggie. Rental prices for skates are $10/person for a 2 hour time period. We lasted for maybe about 40 minutes before it was too cold and one person (ahem) took a tumble. Would love to see what it’s like at night time with all the lights!
Till the next Winter time adventure!
