If you haven’t figured it out by my posts, photos and Instagram stories, I’m a sucker for those cozy, comfy, lazy nights in.  But there is a part of me that feels I should take advantage of the cold, discover some of its beauty and maybe even have a little fun! I mean it is after all the season that defines this wonderful country of ours.

I’ve been doing a little research and keeping my eye out for some activities that will get me out of my pyjamas and maybe even help me appreciate the cold. It’s worth a try right?

Nathan Phillips Square
The Holiday Fair in the Square runs from December 1-23rd.  There’s just so much to do, the options are endless.  You can shop, drink, eat, skate or just take in all the festive lights and décor.  Whether you drop by during the day or at night this will no doubt be an event that will please everyone on your list.  You may even see Fashion Santa on the ice 😉

Winter at Ontario Place
In what looks to be their inaugural year, Ontario place is hosting a Winter wonderland on their grounds from December 8-March 18^th.  Admission is free and the park is open daily from 5AM to midnight.  The Winter Light exhibition can be enjoyed throughout the week but to take advantage of skating and the bonfires you need to come through on the weekends.

Distillery Christmas Market
The holidays are not complete without a visit to the Distillery Christmas Market.  I love the Distillery any time during the year but it is truly magical during the holidays.  Running until December 23^rd you can take advantage of shopping, drinking, dining and all the seasonal décor that is beyond Instagram worthy.  I mean who doesn’t want a selfie with a massive Christmas tree?

DJ Skate Nights
These nights have been a long-time staple in the city and so much fun! Strap on your skates every Saturday until February 17th and skate to the sounds of some of Toronto’s best up and coming DJs.

Casa Loma
For the last few years Casa Loma has been bringing some really unique experiences to the city including transforming into a haunted house, the Beauty & The Beast exhibit and a brand new steakhouse.  Now they’ve opened their doors for Canadian Winterland Nights.  Performances, activities, visits from Santa and of course seeing a historic castle decked out in holiday magic.  Standard admission fees apply.

The ROM
The Royal Ontario Museum has definitely been upping its game with trying to reach a younger adult demographic and their recent programming is no exception.  Right now, you can take in special exhibits like VIKINGS and Christian Dior which I myself took advantage of this past weekend.  Book a brunch before somewhere in Yorkville and then make your way over.  Perfect Sunday Funday.
